Shantell Ogden has a gift for crafting songs with real conviction and emotion. Her gift, combined with a work ethic gained from growing up on a farm, is paying dividends. Shantell’s songs have received airplay on more than 800 country and Americana radio stations internationally, reaching Top 2 chart positions both in the U.S. and Europe. Her songs have also appeared on the CW’s TV series Hart of Dixie and in several feature films. As a performing Americana artist, Shantell has been praised by Maverick Magazine (UK), Performer Magazine, Music News Nashville, For the Country Record and other notable media. She’s won honors for Songwriter of the Year and Americana Song of the Year (“Ghosts in the Field”) in the 2015 IMEA Awards, and Americana Album of the Year for Better at Goodbye in the 2014 IMEA Awards. Shantell tours internationally from her home in Nashville, Tennessee. When at home, she’s known for keeping her front door open and a song drifting down the street.
With an introduction by Pete Townshend, There Is No Substitute is a tribute to The Who’s late drummer Keith Moon, compiled by Ian Snowball with the authorisation the Keith Moon Estate and Keith’s daughter Amanda De Wolf.The book includes a collection of seen and unseen photographs and contributions from friends and fans of Keith – a diverse cross section of drummers, musicians, fans, writers and people that knew him. The book concentrates on Keith’s influence as a drummer and musician and the impact he has had on rock’n’roll, and all reflect the deep affection that his madcap genius inspired in everyone with whom he came into contact. The many interviewees include Kenney Jones, who took over the drum in The Who after Keith’s death in 1978, Rick Buckler of The Jam, Don Powell of Slade, Mick Avory of the Kinks, Carl Palmer of ELP, Clem Burke of Blondie and the late Jack Bruce.
Stevie Jones and The Wildfires belong to Northamptonshire and have carved out a collection of down to earth, infectious self-penned songs. Think John Butler Trio, The Clash, Frank Turner, New Model Army, Counting Crows and maybe a bit of Ryan Adams. Delivered in full band or stripped down acoustic, Stevie’s songs are layers of honesty and urgency and draw on experiences ranging from abandoning alcohol and becoming “Straight Edge”, earning a crust as a professional archaeologist and living life in the modern-day music industry.
Ultimate Eagles are definitive devotees to the music of The Eagles, performing songs from every album and every era, delivering more than forty years of brilliance with both accuracy and reverence. The band is comprised of seasoned professionals who have spent their time performing alongside Queen, Paul Young, Roger Daltrey, Lulu, Colin Blunstone and Thunder. They were invited by Chris Evans to perform at Car Fest North and South, entertaining 35,000 festival-goers each year. Chris has described the band as “the best Eagles tribute in the world”.
