Aubrey Small, Colin Blunstone & Michael Bradley

Interviews from 11th April include Aubrey Small live in the studio, Colin Blunstone, along with Michael Bradley of the Undertones.

Aubrey Small formed in 1969 with a line-up that featured 5 part harmonies, twin guitars & flute. Taken under the management of Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, soon they were enjoying regular sessions on BBC Radio 1’s “Sounds of the Seventies” for Bob Harris & John Peel and found themselves performing at landmark venues such as London’s Marquee, Flamingo, Samantha’s, Thatched Barn at Chalk Farm & The Roundhouse with Ronnie Scott’s becoming our “second home”. They toured with Status Quo, Supertramp, Edgar Broughton, Colosseum, Hawkwind, Pink Fairies, Robin Trower and many others and signed a record contract and publishing deal with Radio Luxembourg MD Alan Keen of Louvigny Marquee. An album was released in 1971 followed by a single some months later. Recently unearthed long lost recorded material was returned to the band and a spark was reignited.

Colin Blunstone is an English pop singer-songwriter, best known as a member of the pop group The Zombies, and for his participation on various albums with The Alan Parsons Project.

Michael Bradley is the bassist for the Northern Irish pop punk band, The Undertones. He is also a radio producer for BBC Radio Foyle and also presents on BBC Radio Ulster. He wrote a book called Teenage Kicks: My Life As an Undertone which was published in 2016, and shares his birthday with former Undertones frontman Feargal Sharkey.
