Bob Jackson, Barry Whitwam, James Stevenson, Luigi Tiberio & The David Sinclair Four

Interviews from 28th September include Bob Jackson of The Fortunes and Badfinger, Barry Whitwam of Herman's Hermits, James Stevenson, Luigi Tiberio of Matinee, along with David Sinclair Four.

Bob Jackson is an English keyboardist/guitarist/songwriter, whose career has been interwoven with various rock and pop bands since the early 1970s, including Badfinger, The Searchers and The Fortunes.

Herman's Hermits are an English beat band, formed in Manchester in 1963 as Herman & The Hermits. The group's record producer, Mickie Most (who controlled the band's output), emphasized a simple, non-threatening, clean-cut image, although the band originally played R&B numbers. This helped Herman's Hermits become hugely successful in the mid-1960s.  Whitwam is the only continuous member of the band and continues to tour with Herman's Hermits joined by new musicians. As of December 2011, these included Geoff Foot, who has been associated with the band since Noone's departure, as lead singer and bass guitarist, Kevan Lingard on keyboards and vocals, and Simon Van Downham on guitar.

James Stevenson is an English punk / alternative rock guitarist, at one time appearing with The Alarm, Gene Loves Jezebel, Gen X, The Cult and Chelsea.

Matinée are an East London four piece indie band.  Described by Chris Geddes from Belle and Sebastian as “Anthemic indie rock with electronic flourishes. Hints of Franz Ferdinand and the Britpop era abound”. The band is produced by Tony Doogan (Mogwai, Carl Baràt, Glasvegas, Belle and Sebastian) expressing melody driven guitar soaring songs about loves broken secrets.  The band are named after Scotland’s very own Franz Ferdinand’s hit song ‘Matinee’ and struck as a friendship with the band after supporting them in Italy.

The David Sinclair Four are led by David Sinclair on vocals and guitar, along with Geoff Peel, Jos Mendoza and Jack Sinclair.  More info at www.davidsinclairfour.com
